A brief introductionPalm oil production in Indonesia
Palm oil production is important to the economy of Indonesia as the country is the world's biggest producer and consumer of the commodity, providing about half the world supply. Oil palm plantations stretch across 6 million hectares (roughly twice the size of Belgium). Indonesia plans by 2015 to add 4 million additional hectares towards oil palm biofuel production. As of 2012, Indonesia produces 35 percent of the world's certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO).
In addition to servicing traditional markets, Indonesia is looking to put more effort into producing biodiesel. China and India are the major importers of palm oil, accounting for more than a third of global palm oil imports.
The statistics has shown that Indonesia ranks as the world’s largest producer and is blessed with the abundant supply of palm oil that surpasses other countries. With the opportunities presenting themselves, we thus established PT. Suryatama Kencana Jaya (SKJ) in Lampung in 2014 as a private Indonesian trading company to harness the potential to supply the demands of palm oil and its derivatives.
With the extensive and evergrowing network of suppliers and customers, we, in SKJ, are passionate about our endeavour in expanding our business scope from mainly trading Palm Oil and Palm Acid Oil, to a more diverse range of their derivatives in order to cater for growing market demand.
